Down District Council works in a number of ways to influence the factors that impact upon economic development and facilitate opportunities for growth. If you are a potential investor the Council can help with information, contacts, site location, etc. Located in on the Belfast Road, a mere 20 miles from Belfast and Lisburn Down Business Centre provides modern large scale business accommodation and state of the art turnkey office accommodation for businesses.
A mix of businesses in both scale and sector can be accommodated. The Centre includes workspace suitable for high-tech, manufacturing, light industry or office based businesses. There are 35 rental units ranging from 300 to 2,000 square feet and all have car parking facilities and access to high-speed internet connections. A a thriving business community, made up of tenants from a wide range of industries, provides ample opportunity for mutual support and networking.
Down Business Centre has a new state-of-the-art office complex, Innovation House, especially for ICT businesses. The complex has spacious office suites ranging in size from 297 to 601 square feet, which can be rented individually or in groups. It offers an excellent communications infrastructure with free, high speed internet access, a secure entry system and 24-hour CCTV.
For all units, the Centre offers a very flexible lease option that will appeal especially to those starting up a business. Tenants have access to their workspace 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The "Go for it Programme" offers practical support for people who wish to start or to grow their own business. Further information on the programme, which is funded by Invest Northern Ireland, is available from Down Business Centre. The Centre also provides a "signposting" service on other sources of support to small to medium sized enterprises in the Down District Council area, including assistance with sourcing grants.
