Dangerous Structures
Down District Council has a responsibility to protect members of the public from hazards presented by defective buildings, walls and other structures which adjoin or abut any street, public footpath or other public place.
Building Control will carry out inspections and report on necessary action to remove the danger and with reasonable notice on a 24 / 7 basis.
We (and others) have various powers to act on the owner or occupier in relation to buildings & structures in order to remove this danger.
