Industrial Pollution Control

Industrial Pollution Control

Environmental Health, on behalf of the Council, controls the emissions of air pollutants from certain industrial premises within the District by a system of  authorisations and permits. The Alkali and Clean Air Inspectorate is responsible for controlling those premises which have the greatest potential for pollution.

The Council holds information concerning authorizations and permits issued under the Industrial Pollution Control (Northern Ireland) Order 1997. This public information includes copies of applications for authorizations and permits, location maps, notices and plans for certain prescribed processes and can be viewed free of charge by appointment with the Environmental Health section.
