Since opening in 1987 the Centre is the heart of the local community and provides a valuable service to Ballynahinch and the surrounding areas. Situated in the centre of Ballynahinch we offer a range of activities throughout the year for all ages.
Summer Coaching Camp 2011
Athletics, Basketball and Rugby
4 - 8 July 2011
This summer we are offering children the chance to be coached by top qualified coaches as part of the Active Communities Scheme. This is an ideal fun filled opportunity for both boys and girls this summer to try something completely new or improve on their current skills level.
Active Communities seeks to deliver activities in community settings increasing participation in sport and physical recreation.
John and Catherine will be taking the Junior and Senior Camps in the centre, and teaching children, new skills in both athletics and basketball, how to participate in teams and most of all show them how to have fun while being physically active.
Catherine is an active community athletics coach and currently employed by Athletics NI for Down/Newry and Mourne. She has been involved in athletics from the age of 12 and has competed at both Junior and Senior level on Northern Irish and Irish Athletics teams. Catherine is team manager for international athletes at both junior and senior level.
John is an active community basketball coach currently employed by Athletics NI. John has been coaching for 20yrs and has coached Ireland squads of all ages at international level for 6yrs. John works closely with primary and secondary schools introducing Basketball into their sports development.
Camp 1 (Juniors) 6-9yrs 10.00am – 12.30pm each day
Camp 2 (Seniors) 10-13yrs 1.30pm – 4.00pm each day
Cost £15 per person (booking advisable due to limited places)
