Down District Council’s Events Development Officer, Ann Moreland guarantees that this year’s celebrations will make Newcastle the place to be on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August, “The programme for this year’s Festival of Flight really is top quality entertainment with an even wider and more varied selection of events, thanks to funding and support from many generous local businesses and of course our new headline sponsor B/E Aerospace.
This event has been enhanced greatly by the continued support of our headline sponsor B/E Aerospace, Kilkeel, Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Cool FM, First Trust and Northern Banks and the many retailers from Newcastle who have financially contributed to the event. Down District Council extends their sincere thanks to each and everyone who contributed in any way.
We are particularly delighted with the return of the Red Arrows on Saturday 6 August, who will blaze a trail over Newcastle once more and the new One Cool Weekend element to the festival certainly has got the province talking about Newcastle. PLM promotions and Cool FM will ramp up the excitement with our two new star-studded concerts over the 6 and 7 August, made all the more attractive with exceptionally affordable ticket prices.
Down District Council wants the festival to be accessible for everyone and has created a great choice of free events. Families can also explore and discover the many things to see and do in this amazingly beautiful area. The natural amphitheatre of Dundrum Bay is a spectacular setting, and Newcastle as a seaside town has always been held dear in the hearts of local and international visitors alike.
We encourage festival goers to delve in and find out more about the activities, food, culture, built and natural heritage of this wonderful County Down region, and what better excuse than during a visit to the Festival of Flight in One Cool Weekend.” This event has been enhanced greatly by the continued support of our headline sponsor B/E Aerospace, Kilkeel, Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Cool FM, First Trust and Northern Banks and the many retailers from Newcastle who have financially contributed to the event. Down District Council extends their sincere thanks to each and everyone who contributed in any way.
