Willowstone Arts & Music Festival

Released: 27 April 2010

The Willowstone festival returns to Killyleagh for another wholesome mix up of good music, art, food, drink, people and place.

We are proud to announce the only Irish date this summer for local hard rocking blues band “The Answer”, back home from a world tour with AC/DC and sell out Ulster Hall show.  Also making music are Cashier No.9, John Shelly & The Creatures, Bocs Social (Dublin), Dark Room Notes (Dublin), Katie & the Carnival, Ruby Colley, Scorpion Jack, Colenso Parade and The Red Admirals.  Have a look at all the acts on our website www.willowstonefestival.com

As well as great music, this year’s festival includes interactive art and games. Try and escape from The Maze (we’ll lend a hand if you get stuck), play a round of Crazy Golf or hang out with a Spaniel with a Lonely Heart.  pony dance will be performing new a theatre/comedy/dance work and Belfast’s Trans:Mission Festival will be making live Art before your very eyes.  Come along to our Mongol village and wave off Team Charloastra as they set off on the ultimate road trip – 10,000 miles to Mongolia.

Worked up a thirst/appetite?  Our drink sponsors The Hilden Brewery will be serving up locally brewed beers and ales in their Tepee beer tent. Organic food comes from the award winning Pheasants Hill Farm includes whole roast hog as well as vegetarian treats.

All this, set in the idyllic walled garden of Delamont Country Park, is just 40 minutes from Belfast. Head down for the day or bring along a tent and sleeping bag.  Camping in the country park includes a family area (kids under 12 go free) with “pimped out” indoor toilets, no need to rough it.

Tickets are available now from willowstonefestival.com and cost £26 for the day and £32 for the day & camping (no booking fee).
