Closed 25 & 26 December and 1 January.
Admission: Adult £4.50, Child £2.00, Family £11:00, Group £3.50ppGroup outside normal hours £5:00.
Directions: From Downpatrick take A7 through Crossar, signposted for Rowallane on left before Saintfield.

 

Strangford


Audley's Castle

Description: Small gatehouse type tower house with part of enclosing bawn built in 15th century.
Directions: 1 mile North West of Strangford town on rocky height overlooking Strangford Lough.

Description: Situated in a stunning locale overlooking Strangford Lough, Castle Ward is an intriguing mansion built in two distinct architectural styles, Classical and Gothic.
Opening hours:
Grounds:  1 Oct - 1 March 10:00 - 16:00 daily.
1 April - 30 Sept 10:00 - 20:00 daily
House: 17 - 19 March 13:00 - 18:00
1 April - 30 June 13:00 - 18:00 Weekends, Bank Holidays and Public Holidays (inc 6-15 April daily).
1 July - 31 August 13:00 - 18:00 daily.
1 Sept - 30 Sept 13:00 - 18:00 weekends only.
Last tour is one hour before closing.
Tea room and shop open as per House and close at 17:30.
Admission:
Grounds and Wildlife Centre only: Adults £4.50, Child £2.00, Family £10.50, Group £3.10.
Grounds, Wildlife Centre and House Tour: Adults £6.50, Child £3.00, Family £16.00, Group £5.00. Group outside normal hours: £6.50.
Directions: From Downpatrick take A25 to Strangford. Castle Ward is 7 miles from Downpatrick and 1.5 miles from Strangford. Castle Ward is signposted off to left before Strangford Village.

Description: Reputedly built by John Sely, Bishop of Down, between 1413 and 1441. Town-house of gatehouse type with entrance defended between two projections.
Opening Hours: Open part of Summer Season only - July & August.
Closed on Mondays. Open Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays 14:00 - 18:00. Open Wednesday & Thursday from 10:00 - 13:00.
Admission: free
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Directions: 2.5 miles south of Strangford on A2. 

 

Strangford Castle

Description: Simple 16th century tower-house with drop hole at roof level to defend the door.
Directions: near Strangford Harbour
