Our Tourist Information Centres in Downpatrick and Newcastle offer a high quality service, including:
Free information
We can give you a wide range of information on the local area and free tourism literature covering the Down District and the whole of Northern Ireland. You can comfortably browse our literature in our seating area for customers
Accommodation Reservation
We provide an Ireland and UK wide accommodation booking service.
Fax and Photocopying
If you need a photocopying or faxing service call into the Tourist Information Centre.
Extended Opening Hours during Summer Months
Newcastle TIC stays open until 19:00 during the summer months, while Downpatrick TIC is open until 18:00.
Wheelchair Hire Facilities
We provide a wheelchair hire service for visitors to the Down District
Access for disabled
We have disabled access and parking at the front of the Tourist Information Centres for your convenience.
Facilities for people who have hearing or sight problems
We have trained staff who can provide facilities for people with hearing or sight problems, and also have a Loop System installed in both Tourist Information Centres.
24 hour telephone answering machine and out-of-hours information
A widely stocked Gift and Craft shop - Newcastle only
For the perfect gift to take home we have an extensive range of locally produced craft products.
Left luggage facilities - Newcastle only
While you explore the area or want to go for a walk in the Mourne Mountains, we can take care of your luggage.
The Tourist Information Centres are committed to providing quality services which are valued by people who live in and visit the area.
We always welcome suggestions from our customers. Your comments will help us improve our services. You can make suggestions in a number of ways.
You can contact any member of staff in the tourist information centre by phone, letter, fax or e-mail or in person.
You can pick up a customer comments form from any council building in the District and return it freepost. (You do not need a stamp)
You can use the suggestion box in either of the tourist information centres
